Ten Things I've Noticed About Norway
- the toilet flush mechanism is on the top of the tank, not the side
- there are no round doorknobs; they're all the lever-type
- no top sheets on the bed; just bottom sheet and duvet-cover
- babies are pushed around in prams, rather than strollers
- the refrigerators are small; our refrigerator is normal sized to me and people comment on it's gigantic-ness
- stores close at 6pm on Saturday and are closed on Sunday. Period.
- commercials aimed at children are outlawed on Norwegian-based television stations (side note: most channels show commercials before and after the show/movie/news, not during)
- squirrels are brown and have tufts of long fur on their ears and are rarely seen
- they don't bag your groceries at the grocery store; it's a do-it-yourself kind of thing
- sometimes there's moose trotting along the highway.
