On a quest to learn the difference between roving (what it is I've got) and rolag (what it is I thought I might need according to that joy of spinning video) I came across this list of terms and definitions for textile people. Their main page led me to the urban spinner who has a whole great collection of links and how to make a wrist distaff which is an apparently useful thing for those of us who are about to learn how to spin with handspindles.
